The West Wight Rifle & Pistol Club was established through the dedication and hard work of local shooting enthusiasts who wanted to create a safe, accessible venue for precision shooting on the Isle of Wight. The photographs show the original clubhouse being constructed — from laying the concrete foundations to raising the timber frame and completing the roof — all done by members volunteering their time and skill's
Since those early days, the club has grown steadily and now welcomes around fifty members, including life and junior members. It continues to uphold the same spirit of community and craftsmanship that built its foundations, offering facilities for Precision .22 Rifle, Sporting Rifle, and Precision Airgun disciplines. Regular competitions and training sessions keep that tradition alive, combining skill development with camaraderie.
